Stacey Champagne combats cyber threats posed by internal employees daily at Blackstone, one of the world's leading investment firms. She is responsible for monitoring the global workforce and investigating events of employee theft, fraud, and sabotage as Insider Threat Program Lead. Prior to joining Blackstone, Stacey conducted numerous insider investigations as part of the technical investigations team at Capital One. She holds multiple certifications including Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) and Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM). Stacey earned her MS in Security and Resilience Studies with a focus on Cybersecurity Policy from Northeastern University, and a graduate certificate in Cybercrime Investigation and Cybersecurity from Boston University.
It wasn't always Stacey's intent to pursue a career in cybersecurity. Prior to entering the field, Stacey worked for the US Government Intelligence Community as a Visual Information Specialist. Her designs supported multiple stakeholders, from military leaders and policymakers all the way up to the President of the United States. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a Minor in Business and Undergraduate Certificate in Product Innovation from Virginia Commonwealth University. During her arts education, Stacey ran multiple successful ventures from her studio apartment including an Etsy store with over 100 sales, as well as a creative strategy, brand consulting, and design firm that served over 30 individuals, businesses, and nonprofits.
Women are estimated to make up only 20% of the cybersecurity workforce, and Stacey is passionate about shining a spotlight on opportunity that exists in the field. She is developing an online course that will enable women to explore cybersecurity roles alongside other career change-seekers. By connecting women through small groups and matching them with mentors already thriving in the field, Stacey hopes to provide a low-risk avenue to attract women to cybersecurity and inspire them to change their career and life.
Stacey is available for interviews, guest articles, and speaking at conferences or other events. Please contact to discuss.
